About the Fellowship
The Imogen Kinchin Fellowship exists to carry forward Imogen's way of working: bold, generous, and quietly radical. She broke ceilings, then helped other people break their own. The Fellowship is here to keep that spirit alive in the cultural sector, in her memory.
Our work is about backing brilliant people, widening access to opportunity, and rebuilding the kinds of peer networks that make leadership less isolating and more human.
The Imogen Kinchin Fellowship is a funded, cohort-based leadership programme for emerging cultural leaders, supported by a cross-sector mentor network and a peer community. But it is only the beginning.
The Fellowship is being built to grow its support for the sector over time. We will be actively seeking new partnerships to develop further projects and opportunities that are imbued with Imogen's spirit: practical, future-facing, and rooted in care.
Imogen died of bowel cancer on World Theatre Day (27 March 2024). The Fellowship exists so what she stood for continues to move through the work.
The Imogen Kinchin Fellowship is a non-profit company limited by guarantee. It is funded by private donors and supporters. The long term intention is for the company to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
The Fellowship is collectively owned by the Mentors as Directors of the company with financial and company governance overseen by Kim Grant who was Director of Finance and Operations at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre with Imogen and supported by leading industry accountants, Nyman Lipson Paul.
